Energize Phoenix Business Financing Program
Energize Phoenix offers both incentives and financing to help pay for energy-saving projects for businesses located within the Energize Phoenix corridor. The Energize Phoenix Rebate program leverages the APS Solutions for Business rebate program by providing a matching rebate (not to exceed 100% of incremental cost) for energy efficiency projects.
Energize Phoenix Business Finance program, a partnership of the city of Phoenix and National Bank of Arizona (NB|AZ), is designed to assist with the costs of energy efficiency improvements not paid for by rebates. Loan criteria includes:
- Loan size — $50,000 minimum (total project costs minus APS and Energize Phoenix rebates = financing amount)
- Loan term — 12 months minimum, 120 months maximum
- Loan type — collateral will generally be required depending upon loan size, term and underwriting requirements
- Interest rate — low, fixed rate for entire loan term
Eligible Energy Efficiency Improvements
Low interest-rate financing is available for energy-efficiency improvement projects that have met the requirements of the APS Solutions for Business and Energize Phoenix programs. Financing is only available for approved energy-efficiency improvements as outlined by these programs. Generally speaking, if the APS Solutions for Business program allows a rebate for a particular energy improvement, you also will be able to finance such an improvement.
Examples of energy-saving measures include: heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, lighting, building envelopes and refrigeration improvements. This program does not provide financing for energy efficiency improvements associated with normal construction activities. The proposed energy efficiency improvements will be reviewed by Energize Phoenix staff before NB|AZ is notified of your interest for financing in order to expedite the review process.
